Our client Workplace Defender is a successful, well-established business providing design, construction and installation of custom Height Safety Systems. On their behalf we are seeking a practical and reliable Fabricator/Installer to join their growing team based in Melbourne's southeastern suburbs. THE ROLE This hands-on role involves fabrication and installation of height safety/access systems across commercial, industrial and construction sites both locally and (occasionally) regionally. Your daily tasks will include:- - fabricating steel and aluminium components in the workshop
- reading and interpreting drawings, plans and installation instructions
- installing roof anchors, static lines, guardrails, walkways and other height safety components
- working safely at heights on active construction sites
- inspecting completed work and ensuring installations meet required standards
- completing job documentation, photographs and site reports
- maintaining tools, equipment and company vehicles
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE - is physically fit and able to undertake manual handling, working at heights and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- is confident using hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment
- is able to read basic technical drawings and accurately measure/install components
- displays a strong understanding of workplace health and safety
- has a current, clean full Victorian driver's licence
- has full unrestricted Australian working rights.
Although not essential, the following experience and qualifications will be very highly regarded:- - experience in height safety installation, metal fabrication, construction roofing, rigging or similar
- Working At Heights certificate
- Construction Industry White Card
- EWP licence
- welding or metal fabrication experience
- roof access or commercial roofing experience
- rigging or dogging qualifications
- current First Aid Certificate
